December 2023 Healthy News from Dr. Le's Chiropractic & Wellness, L.L.C. Relieving Neck Pain Treatment & Exercise

As much as the holiday season brings joy, for some it can be a pain in the neck. Dr. Le's Chiropractic & Wellness, L.L.C. is here to help! Chiropractic care at our Auburn chiropractic clinic is calm, effective, and proven to ease pain in a relatively brief period of time. Non-specific neck pain patients noted that they felt improvement in their neck disability after one cervical spine manipulation session. (1) Even for more difficult cases (like the following), The Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management delivers pain-relieving results. One patient with neck pain due to narrowing of the cervical spine foramen and radiating arm pain as an effect of a C6-C7 cervical disc herniation reported less pain and improved function in 10 visits in a month. The patient was without pain and fully functional 8 months later. (2) Another patient with a post-surgical C6-7 fusion experiencing neck pain and back pain reported decreased pain (which dropped from 8/10 to 3/10) in 12 visits in 3 months with Cox® treatment. (3) A review of published papers on the effectiveness of manual therapy for chronic neck pain, described as a safe and less painful method to ease chronic neck pain, concluded that manipulative therapy lowers the degree of chronic neck pain and neck disability. (4) And most patients don’t have to undergo care ‘forever’. A recent study wrote that chiropractors do not recommend continued care apart from certain neck pain patients: only 39% of patients were proposed to continue care beyond 4 weeks with long duration of neck pain being the strongest guide for continued care. (5) Our Cox® Technic treatment plan for cervical spine pain is gentle and effective for Auburn neck pain whether it’s acute or chronic, radiating into the shoulder or down the arm or centralized to the neck. This time of year, neck pain patients walk in our door daily! We are ready to help each one re-discover the JOY of the season!

Auburn CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH: Exercise those Neck Muscles!
Cervical spine pain patients who want sustained Auburn pain relief often get it once they add exercise. A simple elastic band exercise program was shown to be effective for non-specific neck pain decrease and improved strength of cervical spine flexor and extensor muscles as well as scapular. (6) To improve neck pain and disability effects, a study found that isometric exercises significantly reduced neck disability index scores after 4 weeks for cervical spondylosis patients. (7) These are simple exercises that don’t take long to do or to have a positive effect on neck pain. So good!
