Auburn Chiropractic Care for Spine and Related Musculoskeletal Pain
Pain makes us a bit self-centered instead of life-centered which is perfectly logical and logically universal. People around the world suffer with pain, back pain, neck pain, musculoskeletal pain, much of which is spine-centered. Fortunately, Auburn chiropractic care is locally accessible to help manage as well as alleviate spine-related pain.
GLOBAL IMPACT OF SPINE AND MUSCULOSKELETAL PAIN CONDITIONS
Data from an international study that tracked spine pain (neck pain and low back pain) sufferers from 1990 to 2019 revealed that the “years lived with disabilities,” incidence, and prevalence of both conditions rose significantly. Worldwide, neck pain and low back pain were noted to burden public health significantly, particularly as people age, being most problematic in middle and older aged folks. Data also pointed out that these two conditions were more frequent in women and middle-aged groups and more common in higher socioeconomic indexed countries. (1) Not including low back pain, neck pain, rheumatoid arthritis, or osteoarthritis, the same Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 reported that “other musculoskeletal disorders” rose by 123.4% from 221 million to 494 million people from 1990 to 2019. With over 150 different conditions impacting bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and the spine under the umbrella of “other musculoskeletal disorders,” health loss incorporating death and disability due to musculoskeletal disorders is predicted to keep growing. From 2020 to 2050, it is expected to increase by 115% to 1060 million cases. More women are affected by 47.4% than men. The prevalence of these disorders topped out between 65 and 69 old for both men and women. (2) We at Dr. Le's Chiropractic & Wellness, L.L.C. take care of all types of spine related musculoskeletal disorders in addition to back pain and neck pain. Studies like these inspire us to keep up with spine research to assist you, our Auburn chiropractic patient, in the best possible way.
UNDERSTANDING STANDING AND BACK PAIN
Back pain and neck pain are definitely two of our most common painful spinal conditions at Dr. Le's Chiropractic & Wellness, L.L.C.…and standing is a daily requisite! Everyone’s spine is a bit different. How we each stand is a bit different…and that matters! A new study recorded bigger variations in lumbar lordosis (spinal curvature) like upright standing posture in a little more extension or more noticeable curve like kyphosis may well have a bearing musculoskeletal response as far as spinal loading and trunk muscle force. (3) We encourage thinking about good posture which can positively influence your actually having good posture including standing up straight.
UNDERSTANDING SITTING AND BACK PAIN
And sitting is another activity of daily living that we all do often without a second thought (until pain forces us to think about it constantly!). In a recent study, researchers wrote that unsupported sitting intensified intradiscal pressure by about 30% compared to upright standing. Intradiscal pressures were greater for sitting than standing when back angles were less than 20 degrees and higher for standing than sitting when the angles were greater than 20°. Knowing about spinal responses like these are vital in the world of occupational health where lumbar musculoskeletal disorders are a major concern.
