Dr. Le's Chiropractic & Wellness, L.L.C. Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well
Your Auburn chiropractor understands your spine! Dr. Le's Chiropractic & Wellness, L.L.C. understands anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor studied a lot about anatomy of the spine and applies that knowledge daily. Knowing the anatomy of the spine is continually at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient comes into the practice! It is so exciting! (Aren’t you glad someone finds it exciting?)
LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL
When we were in school, we were all guilty of learning only to pass a test. Going to professional school, such learning is more vital than ever since it will influence everyday work. (How much do you remember from your high school or college days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists described that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy teaching during chiropractic school was beneficial for clinical practice, allowing better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical material to justify a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian study of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners reported that they knew their anatomy and demonstrated it in a test showing their knowledge. This was compared to the equivalent in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they retained their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – breaking the hypothesis that practicing chiropractors may not keep it after school. Knowledge of anatomy is used daily in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors understand their anatomy. (2) Your Auburn chiropractor does! We’ll be happy to talk about it!
SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE
Performing spinal manipulation every day utilizes knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most common reasons people said they sought chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The typical treatment they experienced were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get a great deal of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But positive side effects of chiropractic care materialize in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers reported on the immediate effects of upper thoracic spine manual therapy on cardiovascular autonomic control of patients with musculoskeletal pain (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers stated that musculoskeletal pain intensified the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come experience these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on knowledge of the spine’s anatomy.
